Benefits of On Page SEO

Author: Chester Clive

This is the number one of on page SEO factors. The first action before you create content is must be choosing the appropriate keyword. Lots of people claim that the great keyword is a keyword that have high search number Okay, with all the hoopla around "how do build more backlinks to your site for better rankings", people have more or less forgotten the importance of On Page Optimization in SEO. I should quickly explain what is meant by On-page Optimisation. Basically, these are things a programmer can do in code to improve a site's chances of ranking high on search engines.Regular updates of your website content. The updates are sign of the quality. But it is not possible to say how often should be content updated. It depends on the site topic a lot. Some websites simply do not need to be updated too often and some need updates even a few times a day.

META tags are currently not as relevant as they once were. This is because META tags became plagued by webmasters trying to spam the search engines. That being said, you can still use META tags as part of your on-page SEO. Here are a few you should use: The Meta tags given, the contents, the structure of your site's directory, the name of the pages of your website etc are analyzed in this. whenever an Internet user searches for keywords or phrases that match what appears on your website. Business owners are becoming more comfortable with internet business and e-commerce trading. I have noticed a sharp increase in the number of conventional businesses making the transition to an online presence

On Page Optimisation involves any changes you make to your own website. These changes will mostly involve changing the code, content and links within your website. An important tip to bear in mind, when preparing the main body text is to think about your human reader. The page title in on page SEO terms is probably one of the most important search engine optimization techniques to consider. The importance of the Meta description has waned over recent years, many SEO specialists claim that this element is no longer an important part of Search Engine Optimisation. Once the target search engine keywords are chosen you need to build pages around them. The most important rule and basic SEO element is good, quality unique content.

Google suggests to use tree-like navigation structure. The most important pages should be one click from your home page. These pages should be optimized for more general (and more competitive) keywords. If you will comply with this suggestion your pages with more competitive keywords will get higher portion of pagerank. On page SEO refers to the text and content on your web site pages. It acts as the foundation for your ongoing SEO process. Work on your website and content, so that the search engine can find your webpage when searching for your web sites for a particular keyword. It will be useful not only for your potential visitor when he finds your listing in search engine but also for your search engine ranking. You get a few "points" from search engines because you achieve higher prominence of your keywords you are targeting.

Do you need Meta Tags – The Facts!

Author: Amy Nicholson

Search Engine Optimisation or SEO is something that all business owners are striving to learn about in a bid to rank their company website higher than those of their competitors.

The first thing that people generally tend to consider when performing their on-site SEO is the Meta Tags. Meta Tags are located in the html of your website between the tags and the two that relate to your SEO are ‘Meta Keywords' and ‘Meta Description'.

Now, for all of you who are looking to learn about the best way to optimise your company website in Google I am sure you would have read many articles on the subject and for the most part you have probably been left scratching your head and more confused than when you first started learning.

How important are Meta Tags?

Should you include Meta Tags?

What details Should Meta Tags contain?

Well at OgBit.com, the online Business Directory, we work hard to keep up to date with the latest search engine optimisation news so that we can pass our knowledge and expertise onto our customers.

Let's start with the most important question and the one that will benefit you most.

How important are Meta Tags?

The answer is simple: Not very!

The truth is that Meta Tags did previous hold a very high level of importance in Google's search results but times change and that is no longer the truth.

This information is not something that has been passed around by word of mouth; it comes directly from Google themselves.

Meta Keywords are now irrelevant to the point where including them on your pages is simply a waste of time.

Meta Descriptions only have a minor role to play with the Google search results. They will not help you to rank any higher but Google may choose to use the Meta Description as the snippet of information displayed below your listing.

So this brings us on to the next question:

Should you include Meta Tags?

Well I'm sure that you have figured this out for yourselves at this point. Meta Descriptions are worth including due to the fact that you are able to make the snippet of information that Google shows a lot more appealing to your potential customers. Don't waste your time with Meta Keywords.

Finally let's clear up the third question:

What details Should Meta Tags contain?

Well this again is something quite simple to answer. In your Meta Description you should include something that you think will entice customers to your site and most importantly something relevant to what you do as a business. Also, you should keep this description to under 150 characters as this is usually the cut off point for Google.

Obviously Meta Tags are just one of the many considerations when it comes to ranking well in Google.

Is Onpage SEO more important than Offpage SEO?

By: Jessica Dale

When you have started to indulge in the process of applying Search Engine Optimization in your website, it is crucial to know the basics of how to deal with the entire industry. After all, no one wants to publish an entirely boring and mediocre website. So what is to be done? First, as mentioned, be knowledgeable. One of the basic facts is to be oriented that in the process of indexing and determining your page ranking, there are two factors that the Search engine spiders look for: Off Page SEO and On Page SEO. Although both deal with SEO, they have different strategies to implement.

First is the on-page search engine. This provides a set of guidelines on how and where to place keywords on a particular page. Not only is this concerned on the keyword itself but most importantly the positioning of these words in order for your site to gain instant high ranking. This is concerned with choice of URL, titles, headers and so on. You have to take note of the title of the web page, meta tags, anchor texts of the different links inside your site, anchor texts of your navigation links, anchor texts of footer links and of course those of your in-context links.

On the other, off-page SEO is the entire intricate process of attracting and building links to the webmaster's website. For a SEO enthusiast to get higher rankings based on keywords and phrases, spiders will evaluate the quantity and more importantly the quality of the links that direct to your page. Take note that this concerns every link to your blog or to your website.

Now on to the question of which one is important, it is quite simple. The answer is both. On-page SEO refers to the optimization of your own web sites and web pages. Given the right target words in meta tags, header tags, and other parts of your page, you can have a good chance of ranking high in search engines.

But it is not all. Off page optimization, which is the process of developing inbound links that can access your web pages from popular and highly regarded website, plays an important role to ensure the success of your endeavor.

There are various methods of developing inbound links to your own website. Popular link building activities showcase the effectiveness of article marketing, web 2.0 marketing, videos, and social bookmarking. These are the tools you can use to maximize off-page optimization.

Take note, by focusing on on-page factors or off-page factors alone, progress will be limited. Neither can be taken for granted. However, there is no doubt that off page optimization will have by far the greatest and the strongest impact on your search engine positioning. Now, the best decision or approach that you can make would be to do the on-page optimization on your own and if you feel that you are ready to give your time and interest into it, then follow it up with the other factor. Usually, off-page SEO is best done by a SEO professional.

UltraSEOSolutions is an honest an reliable SEO company that is focused on providing its quality link building service to help any online business experience the power of prominent, relevant rankings.

With a nice variety of SEO packages to choose from, first place rankings is not an impossible task anymore.

Top Web Design Mistakes

Web design is the single most important factor for you web site to flourish. As a good web design raises your site's reputation, a bad design can mar it.

Here are some top web design mistakes that you should never do when creating your website :
1. The use of PDF files for online reading: As a PDF file breaks their flow of web browsing, never use PDF file for online reading. PDF is good for printing and for distributing documents that requires to be printed.
2. The use of non-scan able text: A stream of text is painful for an interactive experience. To draw users into the text and support scan ability, use these tricks: subheads, bulleted lists, highlighted keywords, short paragraphs, the inverted pyramid and a simple writing style.
3. The use of [removed] JavaScript is a superb technology - it make web site more interactive. But it should be used when it is needed otherwise it would create chaos.
4. Spelling and Grammar Mistakes: We all make spelling mistakes when we type but we leave the burden to Microsoft Word Spell Checker. But, the web editor may not be as rich as Microsoft Word. It may catch spelling mistakes but not grammatical errors.
5. Use animations with Flash and GIFs: Animation serves to distract you. For this reason advertisement banners are animated. It is annoying to view an animation in a webpage that does not require this.
6. Putting music files to run in the background: Don't use music files to run in the background on a webpage. If you have to use MIDI music on a website, you should put the code and allow the user to stop it.
7. Never Split your content into pages: Put the whole article on one page, because the long pages discourage the user to read.
8. Breaking FAQs into multiple pages: You should refrain from creating every FAQ question's answer as a link that directs to another page. That makes your readers to click on each link, read the text and now a back button click to read the whole FAQ. For an entire FAQ of about 12 questions, you have to click 24 times. Instead place entire FAQ questions and answers in one page.
9. Use High Contrast Text Colours: It is hard to read with a textured background as contrast to a background of solid colour. Ensure your text is readable without the viewer having to stress their eyes.
10. Screen Size Width: You should design your site for the minimum - 800 x 600otherwise produces a scroll bar for users using 800 x 600 resolutions. Users won't like scrolling horizontally when on a website.
11. Font Usage: You should use a common font in your pages. Never use Times New Roman in your website. This font is appropriate for print.
12. Pop-Up Windows: You should not open your entire web site
within a pop up window. Viewers generally watch web sites in the browser window with all the features.
Not Providing a Basic Search Function: Most of the viewers find websites through search engines such as Yahoo! and Google. So place a simple search box in each page.

Flash vs HTML - Which website style is better for SEO

When I first decided to create a website, I had to options: Flash website and HTML website. I decided to go with flash website. Why? Because flash websites
offer fancy looking graphics and they can have music running in the background of your slideshow.

I wanted my website to that had professional look and feel and I wanted my logo to be on a specific section of the site. Also, I wanted to make easy for my clients to navigate through my website. I spent several weeks looking a template that had everything I was looking for. Unfortunately, I didn't find one. So, I decided to learn how to create a flash website that had everything I wanted. I went to the library and picked up few books about creating flash websites.

I learned that flash websites work the same way a dvd movie works. Let's suppose I wanted to watch a dvd movie call "Iron Man". First thing I do is take the movie out of the case and put it in the dvd player. Next, I would wait for the movie to load up. Then I would press the main menu because I want to start the movie. Lastly, I would press play and the movie starts. Ten minutes into the movie, someone is at my door. So I would  pause the movie, and go see who is at the door. It turns out that they have the wrong house. I would close the door and go back to my seat and press play and continue watching my movie.

While reading the books I learned that, like dvd movie that are stored on a dvd; flash websites are stored (embedded) on a file call "swf". This swf file can be program to do whatever I want it to do. For example, if I wanted to my flash movie to pause for few second to emphasize a point and then start playing again, I could program it to do so. Also, I learned to program the flash movie to have my logo (on a specific section of my site), and have the professional look and feel to it, and have dropdown menu, and have slide show gallery with music. The best part was that everything was stored in one "swf" file. That swf file was embedded in to one html file. Life was good and my site was looking good too!!!

I asked my friends (who knew more abut websites) to take a look at my site and tell me what they thought. They told me I have BIG PROBLEMS!!! One - I only have an html file which means that my site will only show under one search result because of the meta tags (title, description, keywords). Two – if someone saved my gallery section of my site under their favorites, it start from home page instead of gallery. Meaning it would start the flash movie from the beginning. Three – my site is not seo friendly. Because everything was stored into one file instead of multiply files (one for home page, one wedding gallery, one for portrait gallery, and etc). I asked them what I can do to fix it. They told to create an html website. That way my site would have different pages for everything and all those pages would have their own meta tags. More meta tags means people would have more chances to find my site.

I didn't want to completely throw way my site because I really liked my slideshow gallery music. And I worked really hard at it!! So I decided to do the unthinkable. I combined the flash website with html website. This way I could have the best of both worlds!!!
